Kids and the Dying
Feb 26, 2019
Don’t shield your kids from the topic of death and dying. My Mom passed away last week in her bed at home. Tammy & I had moved in with her and Tammy became her daily care giver the last few months of her life.
.
Her family visited with her throughout the last few days. Listening to her, praying for and with her, singing to her and kissing on her.
.
Some of my grandkids (her great-grandkids) came back and sat for a while with her. It prompted questions about death & heaven and a host of others. It was an incredible teaching moment.

Death is as much a part of living as being born is. I understand some will find it morbid, but conversations like this helps remove fear and adds perspective. There is an age where they may be too young...

You make your own decision and I’ll respect it, but Solomon says, “better to go to a house of mourning than a feast, for every life ends in death and the living should take it to heart.”
